Restarted Station
I had to stop and restart the station today at 11:20am PST. There was an error on a song and I wanted to get the song out of the playlist. The quickest way to do this was to stop and restart. Sorry if it cut anyone off. The whole operation took just about a minute.

Updated the playlist
I've been updating the playlist so if you happen to hear the same song repeated it means I restarted the playlist. With the list over 27 hrs long, repeats should not be a regular occurrence.

Helping the station stay on the air
I'd like to thank Al Boomer of Creole Jazz Kings and Jack Convery for their generous gifts to the station. With the economy the way it is and my job future uncertain, Dixieland Gumbo can use any help it can get to keep on the information highway. If there are others who would like to gift the station please review the information to the right.
Thanks again

World Premier
Today is the World Premier of the Creole Jazz Kings new CD, "Still Cookin'."

The Creole Jazz Kings have been playing together off and on since 1986 in varying combinations. Today's band includes 5 of the original 6 members with "Blackwood" Tom Schmidt now on reeds and the addition of Daryl Hosick on piano. They have a standing gig every Wednesday 6-9 PM at the Barking Dog Grill, 940 11th St. in Modesto, CA.
I've put four songs into the playlist and I am adding a couple songs to their MySpace page.

Sacramento Jazz Jubilee
Jubilee is around the corner and I have received my first CD from a Band. The Creole Bells Jazz Band gifted me a CD to play on the station.
The Creole Bells Jazz Band from Melbourne, Australia was the guest band at the Modesto Dixieland Jazz Society. They are also guests at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. I highly recommend seeing them if you go to the Jubilee. A very good band playing in the Turk Murphy-Lu Watters tradition.
See you at the Festival,
Dave
